Well I took part in a challenge this week. I normally don't play in the challenges, well sometimes I do. I just don't enter them. Well this week I did. I have taken part in the Freshly Made Sketches #186.
I am pretty excited in taking part in my first one!
Here is the sketch that was provided by Freshly Made Sketches:
I had a lot of fun with this one as I was dying to use a technique that I saw a fellow Australia demostrator showcase in the demo booths at the South Pacific Stampin' UP! convention in the Gold Coast last month. It was a fantastic demo and the use of washi tape with the Beautiful Butterfly Thinlits was really eyecatching.
So this is my take on it using the above sketch as inspiration.
I really love the effect that is created by having a few layers of different coloured card behind the cut out of the butterfly. I also love the bright complimenting colours of Beach House washi tape. They are the Stampin' UP! colours Pool Party, Real Red and Crushed Curry. They are a lot of fun. Aren't they?!
The idea behind Freshly Made Sketches is to encourage the creation of a clean card which they describe as clean-lined creations that can include detail and embellishments as long as they maintain a "clean" look to the card and to create with lots of "white space" Well I hope I have satisfied the brief!
There definitely is a lot of white space on my card which is quite the change for me.
I hope you have enjoyed dropping me in and seeing my first official challenge entry!!!
Thanks for dropping by,
Cherie x
