Experimenting with colour combos

I have been following the Just Add Ink Challenge for a while now. I have loved the challenges and what all the contributors come up with. I am as yet to take part in the challenge but I really enjoyed the colours that were used in this week's Challenge. So although I didn't enter this card into the challenge I thought I would have a go at creating a card using the following colours.

I loved this colour combination and I actually really liked the outcome. What do you think?
I have created this using the Work of Art stampset. It is amazing how versatile this stampset is and I have seen so many incredible ways of using it. I have made a simple card just changing the colour of the dots as I go along. And of course I had to add a little bit of bling and the Frosted Sequins were perfect for this.
The 2014-2016 in-colours are so rich and I really love the texture and feel of the matching ribbon.
Well I hope you enjoyed my creation using the above colour combination.

INKspired Artists Blog Hop Sketch 2

Welcome again to my blog. If you are a new visitor you have just landed on my contribution to the INKspired blog hop. If you have travelled here from the lovely Barbara Williams, hope you enjoyed seeing her card. If my post is your first stop have fun clicking through our blog checking our some of the other INKinspired team's projects. This is sketch 2 of our blog hop challenge. If you would like to see Sketch 1 and what myself and the team created from it click here.
So onto this weeks sketch.
I loved the versatility that this sketch allowed. I had a few ideas in my head on how I would present this sketch and made my final decision on a Shaker Card.
                                                    Shaker Cards-I love them.
This time I had fun combining the wonderful In-Colour Blackberry Bliss with Blushing Bride. I love that combo. I also used one of my favourite stampsets from the holiday catalogue Seasonally Scattered. I have used this stampset quite a bit already as it comes with a fantastic Xmas Stamp as well which I have been using in my Christmas Card Classes in the past few weeks as well as the Thanks stamp that would be wonderful for a Thanksgiving card. It has been fantastic using this stampset on some of my project life scrapbooking pages. Do you love the effect that the blackberry bliss ink and the blushing bride ink have on the embossed background?

I couldn't stop at one so I made another shaker card but I only changed up the background to a solid colour for the different effect.
So here is the other version that I made.
Isn't it great how you can use the heart border punch to create a border as well as using the little heart cut outs in other projects or intergrate them into other areas of your card. Well thanks for having a look at my creations and I am sure that you will enjoy
Janelle Taylor's wonderful card design next.
If you would like to purchase any of the products that were used to create my card then click on any of the images below and you will be taken to my online store.
Thanks for dropping by and look forward to you visiting again.
                                    Happy stamping,
                                                            Cherie!

INKspired Blog Hop Sketch 1

Hi all, you have arrived at my INKspired blog hop post! I am taking part in a blog hop which is going to be a lot of fun. We have great fortnightly sketches coming up so I look forward to designing cards for you to enjoy as well as for you all to have a look at what all the other INKspired Artists are up too!

Welcome to my blog if you have just come from a fellow INKspired artist Barbara Williams      ( I hope you enjoyed her card ) or maybe you are just checking our my creations and starting the blog hop from here. Hope you enjoy my creation in this weeks sketch and  enjoy checking out what my friends have created as well by following the links.
Here is this weeks sketch:

As the new Holiday Catalogue is now available to us I couldnt help myself but get into the Christmas spirit as you may be able to tell with todays creation and you will see with upcoming posts on how excited I am about creating Christmas cards. Well here is my version using this sketch as inspiration.
As you can see I didn't use the tradtional Christmas colours but I love how these colours look together.
The colours combo that I have used is Soft Sky, Sahara Sand and Real Red. I have used the fantastic 2-step stamp set Wondrous Wreath which is found on page 9 of the holiday catty and what is great about this stamp set is that you can buy matching framelits. The advantage of having matching framelits means that you can layer your cards with ease which gives your card a wow factor.Well I hope you enjoyed my take on this week's sketch and now you need to check out the next INKspired artist Janelle Taylor and see what she has created from this sketch.

Loving the Holiday Catalogue

I was so so excited when I received the Holiday catalogue last month. I flipped through the pages and thought 'I want it all'. Well I went a little crazy and purchased quite a bit of what is available. There are so many fun things in there and I love anything Christmas. I cant wait to show you some of the fantastic creations that you will see featured in the catalogue as well as some of my own designs. So follow me to see lots of upcoming examples.
Need one of these fantastic catalogues then Contact me to request one.

Check out this card that I have created using non traditional christmas colours with the Bright and Beautiful stampset. I am loving the cool blue green colours for Christmas. I made this card into a shaker card because I wanted to incorporate the cute and shiny Frosted Sequins. I also loved creating the negative space using the matching star framelits. How beautiful is this star stamp?!
I really like adding bling to Christmas cards as well and you couldn't get more blingy than this. You should see it in the sun.
Thanks for dropping by,

Cherie
