INKspired Blog Hop Sketch #3

Welcome back to my blog and the third challenge of the INKspired blog hop. If you are new to my blog- welcome and I hope you enjoy visiting and checking out my designs and those of the other members of the INKspired Artists team. You may also be visiting my blog from the lovely Barbara and I welcome you as you hop from blog to blog. Okay onto this weeks sketch.
As soon as I saw this sketch I immediately thought of the Scalloped Tag Topper and as I am crazy about designing Xmas cards so I thought I would incorporate the two.
What is great about this challenge is looking at a sketch and using it for inspiration to design a card or project from it. The card I designed I made for this challenge and used it in my card classes over the last couple of weeks and the ladies loved it. Here is my creation using this sketch:

I just love washi tape! I use it on lots of projects particularly on my photos and journalling cards on my Project Life scrapbook pages coupled with some of my favourite colours at the moment. I am really enjoying the blues and silvers combos. Lost Lagoon, Smokey Slate and Silver Ribbon/ Glimmer Paper are a fantastic combo.
Alot of my projects also use the versatile stampset "Gorgeous Grunge" I love filling in big white spaces with the splatters. It is a fabulous and fun background stamp.
Well I hope you enjoyed my card and also get some inspiration for your own project using Stampin' UP! wonderful  All is Calm Designer Washi Tape.  Next up on our blog hop is Janelle Taylor click on the next blog button below to be sent to her creation.

Kids Class Fun!!

I had so much fun in the school holidays. On top of running my regular adult card classes I ran a kids class as well on the Thursday morning. It was so much fun. I really enjoyed watching these 5 crafty girls creating their little masterpieces. I had one Year 1 student, two Year 3 students and two Year 7 students. Quite a range of ages.  It didnt take them long to get comfortable and put their own little spin on the design. I gave them a choice of the background Designer Series Paper from the fabulous Moonlight DSP paper stack. There are a lot of cool designs and great colours in this paper stack as you will see from the girls versions. Here is a picture of the girls hard at work:
One of the designs the girls did on the day was based on one that a fellow crafter friend of mine made- Giselle Watts and the other card I was inspired by a design that I saw on the internet. The first card they did was the owl card using the fantastic Stampin' Up! owl punch and the second card is experimenting with a little punch art using the cupcake punch.
Well time to reveal the wonderful work that the girls produced.
Aren't all these examples the cutest!!
Did you notice the wings that
                                                          some of the girls added?

                                                   Isn't this impressive work?!!!

The second card that they did involved a little stampin'!!! The girls enjoyed stamping the fantastic splodges onto their background using the Gorgeous Grunge stampset which I use on almost every project to create a grungy look, or vintage style card or just purely a bit of fun. They then  experimented with punch art. They used the cupcake punch and made little punch art ice cream scoops and the pennant punch to create little cones.
I unfortunately didn't get a picture of all the girls individual cards. It was a shame actually as some of the girls added sprinkles, waffle sticks and hearts to decorate their cards further. They really showed great creative flair. Well I hope you enjoyed reading about the kids class and loved seeing some of the finished products. If you are interested in having your child join my classes please don't hestitate to contact me. The products I used will be displayed below. Experimenting with colour combos

I have been following the Just Add Ink Challenge for a while now. I have loved the challenges and what all the contributors come up with. I am as yet to take part in the challenge but I really enjoyed the colours that were used in this week's Challenge. So although I didn't enter this card into the challenge I thought I would have a go at creating a card using the following colours.

I loved this colour combination and I actually really liked the outcome. What do you think?
I have created this using the Work of Art stampset. It is amazing how versatile this stampset is and I have seen so many incredible ways of using it. I have made a simple card just changing the colour of the dots as I go along. And of course I had to add a little bit of bling and the Frosted Sequins were perfect for this.
The 2014-2016 in-colours are so rich and I really love the texture and feel of the matching ribbon.
Well I hope you enjoyed my creation using the above colour combination.
