ESAD Retired Product Blog Hop

I decided to take part in another blog hop this week. This time it is with ESAD and with retired products. I have been making so many cards with retired product lately for my classes so this blog hop was perfect for me to take part in. You may have come from Donna Chapman or maybe you have started with me. So welcome and hope enjoy everybody's creations using products that are only available until the 1st June!

  Well with the excitement with a fantastic upcoming new catalogue and seeing terrific new products we also have the sadness of having to say goodbye to some of our favourites. And the one that I am going to miss alot and has always delivered the 'wow' factor is the stampset "Stippled Blossoms".

 If you have followed my blog or have been to my classes you will know how much I love this stampset.

 I have also included three of my favourite colours from the 2013-2015 In-Colour collection which also need to step aside to allow the 5 next exciting new colours that will make up the 2015-2017  In-Colour Collection. 

Here is my card showcasing Stippled Blossoms. This card has been made for a friend who had just been through a really tough patch and I hope to brighten up her day just a little.

The retired products that I have used are Strawberry Slush Ink, Pistachio Pudding Ink, Crisp Cantaloupe Ink and Cardstock, Crisp Cantaloupe In-Colour DSP and of course Stippled Blossoms stampset.Other products used are Wild Wasabi Ink, Whisper White Cardstock, Wetlands Stampset, Dazzling Diamonds and the Stampin' UP! glue pen.

 I fussy cut ( cut out by hand ) each flower and each leaf and then added Dazzling Diamonds with a glue pen to give the card some bling and dimension. I really do love how the darker colour makes the whole image pop. Here is a close up of the flowers:

And a simple flower inside the cards to continue the floral image throughout the card.

A card given to me

I had to write a post about this! Just recently on Mother's Day I woke up to my beautiful 3 year old daughter eagerly handing me my card and present. I was presented with a cute little picture book titled 'Dear mum, I love you.', a lovely necklace ( admittedly purchased by me the day before ) and a hand made card created by my hubby. Now for more than 3 years my husband technically has had access to a bunch of Stampin' Up! products but this is the first time that he has had a go making me a card. And I loved it!!!
It was so unexpected and I am still in disbelief that he had a crack at stamping!!! It proves that anyone can create a card! Well done hubby. I just had to share it with you all. Here is a picture of the lovingly handcrafted card by my husband, Simon.

 He even embellished it with some ribbon. What is even more impressive is how much he had taken in about stamping inside a card to make it more interesting.

Here is a picture of my beautiful daughter and I first thing in the morning on Mother's Day. ( This was followed by a lovely cooked breakfast- I was a lucky mummy! ).

INKspired Blog Hop #16

Welcome to the INKspired blog hop. We haven't had one for a little while due to Anzac weekend and also because of the South Pacific Stampin' UP! convention which was held in the Gold Coast, QLD. Those of us who attended the convention have been busily making our swaps for it which have kept us very occupied indeed over the past couple of weeks.
Welcome back to my blog. Hope you enjoyed visiting the talented Barbara Williams before hopping onto my blog.
With the excitement of a upcoming new annual catalogue ( and boy is it exciting! ) comes the sadness with the loss of some of your favourite stamp sets and in-colours from the previous catalogue.So this sketch today featured one of my favourite stamp sets which never failed to provide the wow factor with every use. It is floral, it is perfect for Mother's Day and it uses the effective 2-step stamping technique. Have you guessed which one it is yet? If you guessed Stippled Blossoms then you are correct!!!
Here is this week's sketch:

So I made two versions of this only by changing the sentiment. I made one for my mother in law using the mother's day stamp in the occasions catty and I also made an exact copy for a friend's birthday using a happy birthday greeting which I will show you here. That is what I love about owning sets with lots of different sentiments. You can change the occasion with one little stamp without having to design a brand new card each time.
Here is my finished product. Hope you enjoy the use of the beautiful stampset Stippled Blossoms.

I have also used some of my favourite ribbon on this card. Unfortunately this is retiring soon as well. It is is the 3/8" Stiched Satin Ribbon. Although it is sad that it is retiring it actually only the ribbon in the 2014-2106 In-Colours that are retiring not the actual type of ribbon. Excitedly the ribbon still features in the upcoming catalogue but in other colours. Isn't that cool? Don't forget you have up to the end of 1st June, 2015 to order any of these items that are retiring while stocks last!!!

INKspired blog hop #15

Yah, blog hop time again. Welcome to my blog! You may have already been visiting the other ladies and would have hopped through to my blog from the wonderfully talented Barbara Williams  or maybe you have started with me. If that is the case welcome and make sure that you check out all the other creative ladies in our blog hop team.
I really had fun this week as it was quite a challenge to come up with a design this week. The sketch appeared quite simple to do however when trying to put a design to it I really struggled. I finally came up with something and really was happy with the result.
Here is this week's sketch;

I really liked the circles and thought I would stick to using circles instead of changing the shape. ( I almost went with a heart shape originally ) and changed the size of the circles on mine to give it a little more character. Here it is;

I have used quite a few punches- 2 different sized circles, the heart punch from the , and the bitty butterfly punch. Gorgeous Grunge of course has made an appearance on the card. I also have added one of my favourite background stamps on this card- I love lace. This back ground stamp is beautiful and it is an absolute must in anybody's stamp collection. Here is an up close picture on how I used it.

INKspired Blog Hop #14

Yah, it is blog hop time again. I really love being a part of this blog hop. It is wonderful seeing everyone's creations all based on the same sketch. Hope you had fun hopping from the lovely Barbara Williams to my blog and hope you have enjoyed the other INKspired artists' creations as well. If you have not seen the other's creations then make sure you continue on through our blogs using the NEXT blog button that you will find at the bottom of our posts. This week's sketch was quite a bit different than Blog Hop #13. It was perfect timing for me as well as I had already a similiar layout that I was working on for a child's birthday card and then when I saw this week's sketch I thought to myself how wonderful as I can adapt my idea to it. Here it is:-

Now I haven't done alot of punch art and because I try my hardest in keeping my cards somewhat to the theme of the party that we have been invited to I was forced to do have a crack at it. The ever so popular theme was Octonauts. The finished product was much to my daughter's delight as it is one of her favourite shows at the moment. Googling the octonaut characters gave me lots of ideas to base the punch art on. There were very similiar versions of punch art to my final result created by various other crafters. However  the one that inspired me the most is a very talented Stampin' Up! demostrator in W.A. Kelly Kent. It was difficult to try and create the characters different to hers so I used the same basic shapes however using different size punches and also changed the colours slightly. And boy did I give my range of punches a work out. Here are close ups of the little fellows-Captain Barnacles and Kwazii Kitten.

This partiular punch art challenged me and I still dont know which ended up with more glue on it-the card or my fingertips!!!! I definitely had fun putting this together though.



I loved using the Decorative Dots Embossing Folder to emboss the background because I think it gives a sense of being in water with lots of bubbles!!!

I was very happy with the final result of the little punch art characters and the overall card. I really hope the little girl who received the card thinks so too!

I cant believe it has been 2 weeks already. The time flies so quickly! I also cant believe that we are in March already. It seems like Christmas wasn't that long ago. Well here we are again at the INKspired blog hop and we are up to the 13th round. If you have just come to me via the lovely Barbara Williams welcome to my blog. This week's sketch looks like this;

I had so many ideas for this one. But I added up going with the Swallowtail butterfly and how my idea started off was not at all like how it finished. I tend to do that alot!!!! Here is my creation this week.

I love the Swallowtail Butterfly stamp. It is a fantastic background stamp. This time I had a go at trying to make the butterfly 3D. I got my inspiration from a fantastic demo Giselle Watts who made a card that had a 3D butterfly added to it. I actually have only made one half of the butterfly 3D and the other half had been stamped on the card. The background stamp I have used is the gorgeous I Love Lace.
Inside the card I have just added a little strip of stamped paper to finish it off.

INKspired Blog Hop 12

Well this is the first blog hop with INKspired Artists this year for me. The past few months all my prize craft possessions have been boxed up whilst we renovated my craft studio. I am finally back in ( with a little unpaking to go ) and able to get some paper crafting done. Yay!!!!
So we are on Blog Hop 12. If you are visiting me for the first time welcome! You may have just come from the talented Barbara Williams who I am sure impressed you with her take on this week's sketch.
















Well since love has been in the air this month, it was only appropriate for me to design a Valentine's Day Card using this sketch. I designed 3 this year for classes so there is not really any excuses for not giving hubby a card for Valentine's Day but would you believe it, he didn't recieve one! Whoops.
Now onto the card. I kept the card very simple this round and I really liked how it turned out. I used a stampset that I have been meaning to use for a long time- Honeycomb Hello. When I saw the cute little bee and the 'bee mine' sentiment I had to use it for a Valentine themed card. Here is a close up of this cute litte fellow.

Now for the whole card;

All of the products that I used other than HoneyComb Hello came from the Occasions catalogue. There are some fantastic things in there. If you are an embossing folder hoarder like myself then you have to get your hands on the gorgeous Happy Heart Embossing Folder. It is great. The cute heart paper is part of the great Stacked With Love Designer Paper Stack.

I have just finished the card off in the inside with a hexagon from the Honeycomb Hello and a punched out heart.
